Twice a year covers most people, and conveniently that’s also what most PPO plans pay for. Heavy coffee drinkers sometimes ask if they should come more often for the stains alone. The honest answer is that staining is cosmetic, so it’s your call, but buildup and gum health set the real schedule.
If your gums run inflamed or tartar forms quickly on you, we may suggest three or four visits a year until things settle. Your hygienist will map it out with you after seeing what six months actually does in your mouth.
