Cosmetic Dentistry/Cosmetic Makeovers

Cosmetic makeovers on South Lamar.

You know the exact tooth. The little chip on the corner you caught on a bottle years ago, or the gap between your front teeth you have been covering in photos since high school. It is not painful and it is not urgent, so it has ridden along on the list for a decade.

Then you turn thirty, or you see yourself in someone else’s Instagram from the patio at Alamo Drafthouse, and you think, why am I still living with this. A cosmetic makeover at our South Lamar studio is usually a much smaller fix than people expect, and the relief of finally handling it is bigger than they expect.

The idea

Color, shape, alignment, balance. A makeover treats the whole smile, not one tooth at a time.

Not a single fix. A plan for the whole smile designed to fit your face.

The basics

What a cosmetic makeover actually is

A cosmetic makeover improves several aspects of your smile at the same time. Instead of fixing one concern, it combines treatments to address color, shape, spacing, symmetry, and gum balance together, for a result that looks natural and fits your features.

We evaluate tooth color, spacing, symmetry, and gum shape, then map out the right combination. Some patients need only a couple of procedures; others choose a more comprehensive plan.

What that means for you
  • The whole smile, in harmony. We design how your teeth work together, not just one tooth in isolation.
  • Built around your face. Shape, length, and shade are chosen to suit your features, not a template.
  • Mixed and matched. Veneers, whitening, bonding, and aligners combine in whatever blend serves your goals.
  • Natural, not “perfect.” The goal is a healthy, balanced smile that looks like you, only more confident.
Why Enamel

Why plan it as a makeover here

A great makeover is equal parts diagnosis and artistry. The sequence matters as much as the treatments. Here’s where we put our effort.

What sets our work apart
  • Smile design, then treatment. We plan the end result first, then choose the combination of treatments to get you there.
  • Providers skilled in the art. Several of our dentists are genuinely gifted at cosmetic sculpting, shade-matching, and clinical photography.
  • Health comes first. We treat any decay or gum issues before cosmetics, so beautiful results sit on a healthy foundation.
  • Honest options, clear pricing. We’ll recommend only what truly serves your smile, and you’ll see the full plan and cost before you commit.
What we’re seeing on South Lamar

The thing you have been meaning to fix.

The 78704 crowd we see tends to come in for one specific, long-postponed thing. A chipped front tooth. A gap, a diastema, that they have stopped smiling fully because of. An edge that wore unevenly and bugs them in every selfie. None of it ever hurt, so it never made the cut against rent, the Greenbelt season pass, and everything else competing for money in your late twenties. It just sat there as a low hum of self-consciousness.

What surprises people is how conservative the fix usually is. Most of these come down to composite bonding, often in one visit. The dentist sculpts tooth-colored resin straight onto the tooth by hand. That builds the chipped corner back, or fills in the gap. Then it gets shaped and polished until it disappears into your natural enamel. There is no drilling down a healthy tooth, no lab wait, and no temporaries to wear in the meantime. You come in on a lunch break off South Lamar Blvd and leave with the thing you have been avoiding in photos for years simply gone.

Bonding is not the answer for everyone. If the gap is large, or several teeth are involved, veneers might give a more durable result, and if the teeth are crowded we may suggest aligning them first. But for the classic South Lamar case, one chip or one small gap on an otherwise healthy smile, bonding is the elegant, low-cost, same-day move. We will show you which path fits at the consult and quote it plainly before you decide.

What it fixes

What a smile makeover fixes, together.

Many patients have a few small things that quietly affect their confidence. A comprehensive plan corrects them as a set, while keeping the natural structure of your teeth intact.

Stained or discolored teeth

Whitening and, where needed, veneers restore a bright, even tone across your whole smile.

Chipped or worn enamel

Bonding or veneers rebuild edges lost to grinding, wear, and everyday life.

Gaps between teeth

Close spacing (a diastema) with bonding, veneers, or aligners, depending on the size and your goals.

Uneven tooth shapes

Refine length and contour so individual teeth read as one balanced smile.

Mild crowding or crooked teeth

Invisalign gently aligns teeth first, often the key to a clean cosmetic result.

An imbalanced smile line

We design symmetry and proportion so your smile suits your face, not a template.

The goal isn’t a “perfect” smile, it’s a healthy, balanced one that fits your face, achieved by improving these details together rather than one at a time.

How it comes together

Your makeover, stage by stage.

Timelines depend on your plan, whitening or bonding can be a visit or two, veneers two to three, aligners several months. We stage it for comfort and the best result.

01

Consult & smile design

We evaluate color, shape, spacing, and symmetry, talk through your goals, and design the end result first.

02

Health first

Any decay or gum concerns are treated before cosmetics, so your new smile sits on a healthy foundation.

03

Align, if needed

When teeth need repositioning, Invisalign comes first, so later cosmetic work fits straight, balanced teeth.

04

Reshape & restore

Veneers and/or bonding rebuild shape, close gaps, and refine edges, hand-matched to your natural teeth.

05

Brighten & reveal

Whitening adds the finishing shade, and we polish and review the result together. A smile that looks like you.

You’ll get a clear timeline at your consultation, so you know exactly what to expect, and what comes next, at every step.

Why it's worth it

Why patients choose a makeover.

Treating the smile as a whole, rather than one tooth at a time, gives a more cohesive, confidence-boosting result, and often a smarter use of your time and budget.

Whole-smile harmony

We design your teeth to work together, so the result reads as one balanced, natural smile, not a set of separate fixes.

A plan built for you

Your combination is chosen for your goals and budget, the fewest treatments that get you the result you want.

Natural, never overdone

Shape, length, and shade are matched to your features. People notice you look great, not that you had work done.

Staged for comfort

Even comprehensive plans are completed in stages, for proper healing, your comfort, and the best possible outcome.

Am I a candidate?

A good smile makeover candidate looks like…

  • Healthy teeth and gums with a few cosmetic concerns to address
  • You’d like to improve color, shape, alignment, and balance together
  • You’re preparing for a wedding, milestone, or big life event
  • You want a real confidence boost without an “overdone” look
  • You’re open to combining a couple of treatments into one plan

When we’ll start somewhere else first

  • +Active decay or gum disease: we treat those first, then move to cosmetics.
  • +A single, isolated concern: one treatment, like whitening or one bonded tooth, may be all you need.
  • +Severely damaged or missing teeth: restorative care or implants come first, then cosmetic refinement.
  • +Significant bite or jaw problems: we address function before focusing on appearance.

Most adults with healthy teeth and gums are candidates. A quick consult at any of our ten Austin and McKinney studios sorts out the right path, whether that’s a full makeover or a single whitening or bonding visit.

Good to know

FAQs about cosmetic makeovers on South Lamar.

Here are the answers to the questions we hear most. Don’t see yours? Call us. We’d much rather chat than have you guess.

I have one chipped front tooth. Can you really fix it in one visit?+

Usually, yes. A single chip is the textbook bonding case: we sculpt composite resin onto the tooth, shape it to match, and polish it, all in one appointment with no lab wait. You walk out with it handled.

I have a gap between my front teeth. Bonding or veneers?+

Both can close a diastema. For a small to moderate gap on healthy teeth, bonding is the conservative, same-day, lower-cost option. For a wide gap or if you want maximum durability, veneers may be better. If the gap comes from crowding, aligning first can be the cleaner route. We will lay out the trade-offs at the consult.

Will the bonded tooth match the rest of my smile?+

That is the whole craft of it. We shade-match the composite to your natural enamel and contour it so it catches light the same way. Done well, you should not be able to point to which tooth was repaired.

How long does bonding last?+

Years, with normal care. It can stain or chip over a long time and may need an occasional touch-up, which is quick. Skipping it on hard objects and not using your teeth as tools helps it last.

Should I whiten before bonding?+

If you are planning to whiten, do it first. Composite does not lighten the way natural teeth do, so we match the bonding to your final, brightened shade. That way it still blends a year from now.
