What they are

The tooth-colored fix for a cavity, even one that’s been put off a while, in a single visit, no judgment.

A filling no one can see. Bonded to the tooth, matched to your shade, and finished in a single visit.

What it is. A composite filling fixes a cavity. The material’s a tooth-colored resin. We clean out the decay first. Then the resin goes in the space, and a light sets it hard. The tooth works like it should again, usually after one visit. It’s the mercury-free material the FDA points patients to in place of amalgam (“silver”) fillings.

When a cavity’s been left a while, which is most of what we see from folks catching up, it’s bigger than it would’ve been six months in. A filling still handles a lot of those. If it’s grown too far for a filling to hold, we’ll tell you honestly and lay out what’s next. No surprises. No guilt trip.

Why composite

Why choose composite fillings in Manor?

A composite filling does two things at once: it stops the ache from an overdue cavity, and it catches the tooth before it needs more than a filling.

No lecture, ever

It’s been a year. Or three. Or longer. We genuinely don’t care. Everyone’s got a reason, and the drive into Austin was a real one. You came in. That’s what counts. We start with whatever’s hurting and move at your pace.

Stops the ache

That throb when you bite, or sip something cold? That’s the cavity talking. Clean it out, seal it up, and the tooth usually quiets down.

Catches it before it needs more

A cavity that’s been ignored is on its way to the nerve. Fill it now and you might dodge a root canal. Sooner is cheaper and easier.

Right here in ShadowGlen

No evening lost to the 290 toll into the city. A real fix, five minutes from the house. That’s the main reason the tooth got handled at all.

What to expect

Your composite filling in a single, comfortable visit.

Most fillings are placed start to finish in about an hour, with nothing to take home but a tooth that looks and works like new.

01

Numb & prepare

A small amount of local anesthetic keeps the tooth completely comfortable. We isolate the area so it stays clean and dry while we work.

~10 min
02

Remove the decay

We gently clear away the decayed tissue, the dental caries that caused the cavity, and clean the area, removing only what needs to go and preserving as much healthy tooth as possible.

~10 min
03

Bond & layer

The tooth is prepared with acid etching and a bonding agent, then color-matched composite resin is placed in thin layers, each cured firm with a curing light for a strong, sealed restoration.

~15 min
04

Shape & polish

We sculpt the filling to fit your bite, check it feels natural, and polish it to the same sheen as the enamel around it. You leave the same day.

Why Enamel

Fillings that look like they were never there.

A cavity should not cost you your smile. We treat composite fillings as cosmetic work, not just a repair. Each one is matched, bonded, and finished with the same care we give a veneer.

Color-matched to your shade

We match the resin to the exact shade of the teeth around it before it is placed, then polish it to the same sheen as your enamel. The result is virtually invisible, even on a front tooth.

Mercury-free & tooth-saving

Composite bonds directly to the tooth, so we remove only the decay and keep more of your natural structure than a metal filling ever could. No mercury, no dark line at the gum.

No amalgamConservative

One comfortable visit

Most fillings are placed in about an hour, in a single appointment, with gentle local anesthetic and a comfort-first team. You walk out the same day with a tooth that works like new.

Is it right for you

Is it too late for a filling?

Worried it’s gone too far? Probably not, honestly. Plenty of overdue cavities are still a straightforward composite filling. The ones that have gone deep might need a bit more, but you won’t know until someone looks. Waiting only narrows the options.

So come in. We’ll check the tooth that’s bugging you, plus any others quietly going. If it’s a filling, great, we’ll do it. If it needs more, we’ll explain why in plain terms and never push. The whole point is to make coming back easy. We’re not here to scare you off for another three years.

Tooth troubles?

Composite filling questions, answered.

Here are the answers to the questions we hear most about composite fillings. Do not see yours? Call us. We would much rather chat than have you guess.

It’s been years since I’ve seen a dentist. Are you going to lecture me?

No. We mean that. You’re far from the only one in Manor who put it off because of the drive. We start with whatever hurts and skip the speech.

The tooth aches when I bite. Can a filling fix that?

Often, yeah. If a cavity’s causing the ache, we clean it out, fill it, and the tooth usually settles. Gone deeper than that? We’ll tell you, and we’ll figure out what’s next together.

What if the cavity’s too far gone for a filling?

Then we’ll level with you about what it actually needs. Maybe a different repair, maybe something more. No pressure, no upsell. You decide what and when.

Do I have to drive into Austin for this?

Nope. We’re in ShadowGlen, off Shadow Glen Blvd. That’s the whole point of having a studio out here.

How long will the filling last?

Five to ten years is typical with normal care. Coming in now and then keeps it, and us, ahead of any new spots.

What do composite fillings cost in Manor, and does insurance cover them?

Most dental insurance plans cover composite fillings just like silver ones, minus your copay. We accept 100+ plans and verify coverage before treatment at any of our Manor studios, from South Lamar to Leander. No insurance? The Enamel Dental Plan and financing options keep cavity treatment affordable.
