The material is a tooth-colored resin called composite. We pick a shade off your enamel, then it gets worked onto the tooth by hand before a curing light sets it. For a slightly crooked or rotated tooth, we build composite onto the part that sits back and ease the part that sticks out, so the front face lines up with its neighbors. The tooth does not actually move. We just change what your eye reads.
To be clear about what this is and is not. Bonding is a visual fix for a minor twist or tilt on a healthy tooth. It does not correct your bite or move teeth the way aligners do. For a small cosmetic case it is faster and cheaper than ortho. For real crowding, we will point you to Invisalign and say so.

Bonding rebuilds the tooth, but it is not armor. Go easy here: no chewing ice or pen caps, leave your fingernails alone, and never open packaging with your teeth.
Composite stains a bit more easily than porcelain. A rinse after coffee or wine helps, and a straw keeps dark iced drinks off the front teeth.
